Joe E. Anderson died Tuesday morning at his home in Dunlap. Mr. Anderson had been in failing health for some months.

He was a son of William E. and Isabell McRee Anderson and was born July 10, 1872 at the old Josiah M. Anderson home, southeast of Dunlap.

He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Emma Prigmore, of Marion county, and the following children: William E. Anderson, Chattanooga; Mrs. Almeda Burks, McMinnville; Joe Anderson, Jr., Dunlap; R.L. Anderson, McMinnville; Mrs. T.O. Hinton, Anniston, Ala.; Mrs. S. R. Hinton, Dunlap; Haskel Anderson, Chattanooga; Mrs. Gordon Smith, El Paso, Tex.; several grandchildren, great-grand-children, and one sister, Miss Almeda Anderson of Chattanooga.

Funeral will be conducted by the Rev. F.H. Carey at the Dunlap M.E. church at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial service in charge of the Masonic lodge at Chapel Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers: Gordon Smith, S.R. Hinton, R.A. Anderson, T.O. Hinton, Otto Hege, W.H. Smith, J.B. Anderson and Briggs Smith. Arrangements by Putnam-Standefer.
