Mary Jane Shockey Stout, 87, of Lafayette died at St. Elizabeth Hospital at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2006.
Born in White County, Indiana on February 6, 1919 to the late George Washington and Eva Mabel (Hicks) Shockey, she was a lifetime resident of Lafayette.
She married Shirley Gordon Stout and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1988. She was a cook at Purdue University for 25 years and then worked at Wabash Center for 10 years before retiring. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are two sons; Gordon (wife, Pat) Stout of Lebanon, IN and Rex (wife, Shirley) Stout of Waveland, IN, three daughters; Dawn (husband, Doug) Wagoner, Ava (husband, Bob) Englert, and Syra Stout all of Lafayette, and a sister; June "Abby" (husband, Frank) Bowyer of Brookston, IN. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the 1 p.m. service Friday, December 22, 2006 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Rev Matt White officiating. Interment at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
