Melba W. Holman, 68, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, unexpectedly passed away on the morning of January 16, 2000. Shortly after undergoing successful back surgery in New York City, Melba experienced a stroke from which she could not recover. She was born to John and Florence Workman on September 27, 1931 in Provo, Utah and married Willard James Holman (Salt Lake City) on October 21, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. Bill and Melba chose to make their home in Pleasant Grove where they have lived for 45 years. Above all, Melba was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who always placed the needs of others before her own. Later in life she returned to the work force as a secretary for Provo School District and then as Head Secretary at Pleasant Grove High School. Melba's vivacious zest for life and constant energy contributed to her magnetic personality. She thrived as an active member of the LDS Church and was known for her passion for gospel principles and for her thirst for knowledge. In 1994-95 Bill and Melba thoroughly enjoyed an LDS mission to Billings, Montana. Since their return Melba has relished her time together with her husband and family. She will be missed at the Timpanogos Temple where she has faithfully served as a Temple Worker.
