The farm was located near (what is today) Lowellville, Coitsville Twp, Mahoning CO., Ohio , close to the Pennsylvania border and SW of Youngstown. While in Ohio, Willaim and Jane were members of the Deer Creek Seceder Church. They are both buried in the Old Deer Creek U.P. Cemetery in Pulaski Township, Lawrence County, PA.
Inscription on Jane Watson Houston's tombstone:
"In memory of Jane Watson, consort of William Houston who departed this life January 23, 1841."
The inscription on Jane Watson's tombstone and the location of the cemetery was kindly provided by Mr. Dwight Copper.
He wrote that "there have been several close calls, but the old cemetery has survived and is mowed on a regular basis!! However many stones have toppled, received damage and many are illegible. Fortunately, William and Jane Watson Houston's stones are in fairly good condition. The Cemetery is on the old Deer Creek Road in Pulaski Township, Lawrence County, PA; it is relatively close to the Ohio Line and Lowellville and many many years ago before all of the name changes, one Pastor served the Congregations in Lowellville, Hubbard and Deer Creek; thus the confusion as to its location."
