John Gragg was born in Clay county, Missouri, October 2, 1837, died in Elk county, Kansas, January 12, 1910, age 72 years, 4 months, 10 days.
Mr. Gragg came to Kansas in 1855, was married to Brich Shaw April 15, 1858, to this union were born nine children, six children preceded him to the spirit world. Mrs. Gragg died in 1895.
He was married the second time to Alice Frame April 16, 1897.
Bro. Gragg was converted early in life, and lived a consistent child of God up to the time he was called away. In his late afflictions he suffered untold misery but he patiently bore it all without complaint. He had selected tne ninteeth Pslam as a text for the funeral discourse. Revealing his faith and trust, he placed in his God, he was loved most by those who knew him best.
He served as a soldier in the U. S. army.
He leaves a widow, two sons and one daughter and relatives to mourn their loss.
