Revolutionary War and War of 1812 veteran. Husband of Phoebe Walton Ball whom he married in Cumberland, Virginia April 5, 1792. Together, they had seven children.
Private in Capt. Lawrence's Co., 22nd Reg., U.S. Staff, Mercer Co. PA, Blues. Rev. War, War of 1812, & Battle at Lundays Lane, helped to build Perry's Fleet at Erie, PA. Gov. gave him a land grant of 100 acres for service in Rev. War.
Bought addt. 100 acres, built cabin in the center of land. Died of fever while enroute home from Erie while serving in the War of 1812. One half of his grave was under the sidewalk in Mercer, PA. In 1906 he was reburied in a private
cemetery on the old Amos Entheus Ball farm.
