H. P. Amon Of Polk Succumbs
Homer P. Amon, 62, of Polk RD 1, died suddenly at 5:30 a.m. Thursday in his home. He was born March 12, 1903, in Mineral Township, a son of Hayes C. and Nina Perrine Amon. He spent his entire lifetime in Mineral Township, and was a self-employed dairy farmer.
He was married to Bernice Barnes on Sept. 16, 1921, and she survives. He was a member of the North Sandy United Presbyterian Church, the Adult Bible Class and the Men's Choir of the church. He was also a member of the Sandy Lake Grange.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Donald, of Sandy Lake, and John, Polk RD 1; two daughters, Mrs. James (Jean) Zimmer, Sandy Lake RD 2, and Mrs. Harold (Joan) Jones, Mercer RD 5; one brother, Glenn E. Amon, of Polk RD 1; one sister, Mrs. William (Nina) Judi, of Pittsburgh; and 19 grandchildren.
Friends are being received at the McMullen Funeral Home.
