Cyrus Aldrich died July 14, 1900
At 12:40 p.m. yesterday, Cyrus C. Alrich passed away after a long illness. Mr. Aldrich was an old soldier. At the battle of Altoona, he a portion of his jaw town away by a musket ball.
Recovering from that wound, it caused a throat trouble which finally caused his death. For a long time he has been unable to swallow anything but liquids.
The funeral services will be in charge of the local G.A.R. Post, and will be held at the house at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
Mr. Aldrich came to Elsinore the early 1890's from Minnesota. He went back to his home in the Spring, returning with his family in the fall.
Mrs. Aldrich died about three years ago. He has three sons who are supposed to be somewhere in Southern California; but at this writing it has not been able to locate them.
He has a married daughter, living in Ohio, and other one, who is unmarried, living in Minnesota
