Funeral of Mrs. Beal Wednesday Afternoon
New Salem,Pa., April 18, 1915- The funeral service for Mrs. George Beal, of New Salem,
was held at the Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon at 2.
The service was conducted by the Rev. E.E. Manley, pastor of teh Christian church of
which Mrs. Beal was a faithful and consistent member.
The Rev. Mr. manley was assisted by his son, the Re. R.G. Manley missionary to the
Christian Church in the coke region, and teh Rev. W.H. Sloan, pastor of the Presbyterian
church.
The church building was filled to overflowing with friends and relatives of the deceased.
Mrs. Beal was a daughter of Joseph W. Jeffries and was born in Dwight, ILL. The family
moved to this county while she was but a young girl. She became a member of the
Cumberland Presbyterian church in early years, and was married to George Beal, a
contract painter, of this place, about fifteen years ago and was a devoted wife and affectionate
mother.
She leaves four children, Howard, aged 14; Mildred, aged 9,; Alice, aged 5, and Emmett Ray, who was just a week old when his mother died.
Mrs. Beal was highly esteemed by all who knew her, being kind and patient.
