A memorial visitation for Anita C. Crawford, 91, of Champaign will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Memorial Home in Savoy. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Genoa Cemetery. Mrs. Crawford died on May 18, 2005 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on August 6, 1913 in Barnesville, Ohio to Arthur and Ida (Bollman) Crites. She married Walter Smith in 1940 in Murphysboro. He died in 1957. She married Warren Crawford in 1970 in Champaign. He died in 1986. Mrs. Crawford was a graduate of University of Illinois College of Education and had worked as a home economics teacher. She also graduated from Lincoln College of Law in Springfield and had worked as an attorney for 50 years. She had held a private practice in Hillsboro, was an assistant state's attorney and had worked as a regional representative for State Department of Public Health within the Attorney General's office, handling cases involving child support enforcement. She enjoyed playing bridge and collecting antiques. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
