The son of Henry & Mary Susan (Snooks) Cluck, he married Adaline Yeager and fathered Mary S. (b. @1859), Edmund or Edwin H. (b. @1861), Alice C. (b. @1865), Minnie B. (b. @1867), Harry (b. @1871), Simon Nathan (b. 12/24/75), and Charles Britton (b. 10/11/78). In 1850, he lived with his family in Liverpool, Perry County, but in 1860 was a cabinet maker living in Mifflin Township, Dauphin County. He stood 5' 8" tall and had dark hair and blue eyes.
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Perry County September 16, 1862, and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg October 7 as a private with Co. I, 17th Pennsylvania Cavalry (162nd Pa). On November 5, 1864, he transferred to 108th Co., 2nd Battalion, Veteran Reserve Corps, but his discharge date remains to be located.
