OBITUARY-THE DORCHESTER STAR
APRIL 18, 1940
William Henry August, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony August was born in Shelby county, Ohio, July 3, 1877 and passed away at his home in Friend about five o'clock Friday afternoon, April 2, 1940. He has been a great sufferer for some time and was as patient as anyone could be in his condition. He passed away quietly after a very hard day.
Billie, as he was called by his friends and relatives, joined the Christian church in Dorchester when young. He was a kind and loving husband and father, ready to help anyone in need. He came to Nebraska with his father, stepmother and three brothers in the fall of 1880, locating on a farm south of Dorchester, and has lived on a farm near Dorchester until the spring of 1935 when he and his wife moved to Friend.
He was married on December 22, 1909 to Pearl Mason and in this union was born two sons Floyd and warren. She passed away Oct. 25, 1919 and Billie and the boys continued to live on the farm. He was married to Mrs. Vurla Mae Davis of Havelock on August 8, 1920.
he leaves to mourn his departure this wife, Vurla Mae of Friend, two sons, Floyd and Warren, near Dorchester one brother, Joe of Dorchester, a half-brother, Fred August of Arvada, Colorado and a half-sister, Mrs. Chas. Hugel of Dorchester and other relatives and friends.
Burial was in Dorchester cemetery.
