Harvey Shearer Jr., 70, of 6 Lenwood Park, Shippensburg, died Wednesday, Mar 27, 2002, in Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg. Born Dec. 24, 1931, in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Harvey D. Sr. and Nina Mae Gardner Shearer. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. A graduate of Newville High School, he served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and retired after 20 years service from the Army National Guard. He was a member of James W. McCartney American Legion Post 232, Spring Run, and Hamilton-Myers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6070, Newville. In addition to his wife Thelma C. Hutchison Shearer, surviving are a son, H. Donald Shearer III of Germany; two Daughters, Susan (Mrs. Michael E.) Wise of Carlisle and Betsy J. Garman of Newville; six grandchildren; three brothers, William and Kenneth, both of Newville, and Richard of Huntington; four sisters, Doris (Mrs. Richard) Warren of Carlisle, Gloria (Mrs. Richard) Williams of Mechanicsburg, Twila (Mrs. Donald) Winters of Shippensburg and Linda (Mrs. William Bowles of Newville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Forelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., 112 W. King St., Shippensburg. Chaplain Alvin M. Moore will officiate. Burial with Military honors conducted by the U.S. Air Force will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and one hour before the service Tuesday in the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 201 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg 17201.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, with the Rev. Alvin M. Moore officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Falling Spring Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, 201 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
