Age 83, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009 in Florida. He was born March 4, 1926 in Ypsilanti, the son of Freemont and Frances Peterson. Calvin served honorably in the U.S. Navy. In 1949, he married Eloise Farmer in Ypsilanti and she preceded him in death in 1969. On July 16, 1971, he married Joyce Chamberlain and she survives. Calvin was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ft. Myers, FL. He owned Brian and Peterson Shoe Store in Ypsilanti for 26 years. In addition to his wife, Joyce of 38 years, survivors include: three daughters, Cheryl (Jim) Ori of AZ, Linda (Doug) Barker of Milan and Carol (Darryl) Peczko of Wayne; one son, Doug (Sharon) Peterson of Ypsilanti; two grandchildren, Laura and Rachel; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, Eloise, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. The memorial service will be 4:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ralph Crotty officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Highland Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service Thursday.
