Lloyd was the sole survivor of a set of twins born to unknown parents who were adopted shortly after birth by William and Anna (Claude) Aldrich. His brother, Floyd, died about age 3 or 4 from diarrhea or severe water loss. Lloyd was raised upon the Aldrich family farm with the Aldrich daughters. He enlisted in the US Army in 1944, shortly after being drafted and served until October 1945 when he was discharged. He was married when he enlisted, but his spouse, or children are unknown. He died in Yuma, AZ and is buried there at the National Cemetery.
