The Oklahonan, Apr 21, 1953:--Cement Firm Official Dies--Chauncey D Nichols, 67, vice president of Ideal Cement Co, died Monday morning in his home at 4633 N Indiana.
A native of Grand Haven MI, Nichols studied law at the University of Michigan. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1906. In 1910 he became a salesman for the R J Clark Coal & Cement Co, which later was bought by Oklahoma Portland Cement Co.
He became vice president of the latter concern in 1920 and remained in that position when the firm became Ideal Cement Co. He was a member of the Beacon club and was a 32nd degree Mason.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 pm in the Street & Draper funeral chapel. The family requests that contributions be made to the heart fund in lieu of flowers.
Survivors are his wife, Adah, of the home; a son, Chauncey Jr, 2736 NW 17; a brother, E C Nichols, Kalamazoo MI; and two grandchildren.
