Harvey Fenton Keele, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, was called home on November 17, 1996, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on September 3, 1920, in Duchesne, Utah, the eldest son of Nephi Fenton and Irean Davies Keele. Married Muriel (Miki) Mae Poston in Yuma, Arizona on February 16, 1946. Served in World War II as a Signalman in the U.S. Navy. Member of the Teamster Union working in the trucking industry for 40 years. Harv had an independent trucking business for 20 of those years. Received many awards and recognitions for his outstanding driving record, and was very proud of never receiving a citation in 40 years of driving. Member of the LDS Church as an elder in the Jordan River 1st Ward.
Survived by his wife, Miki; daughter, Robyn (Bill) Garlutzo, Denver; son, Gregory (Barbara) Keele, Riverton; grandsons, Kyle, Larry, Mitchell Keele, and Andrew Garlutzo; brothers, Wallace and Monte; sisters, Enid Hopkins; Maud (Morris) Hopkins; Mildred Allen; Doris (Dave) Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son, Randall Fenton Keele; mother, father and stepmother, Annie Knight Keele.
Special thanks to Karen, Pat, Julie and Mary Alice of the CNS Hospice who took such special care of him as well as Dr. Harker, formerly VAMC.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 21, 1996, 12 noon, at the Jordan River 1st Ward, 1540 West 10400 So., South Jordan. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 So. 1700 East, Sandy, and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
