Married Florence May Phillippi on 05 Feb 1906 in Wenatchee, Chelan County, Washington.
Ernest D. McMillen, 85, a pioneer orchardist in Sunnyslope, died Friday [16 Apr 1971] in a Wenatchee hospital.
He came to Wenatchee with his family from Cando, N.D., in 1903 and helped his father plant the first orchards in Sunnyslope. He later purchased them from his father.
On Feb. 5, 1906, he married Florence Phillippi in Wenatchee. He was active as an orchardist on the family homestead until his retirement about 15 years ago.
Mr. McMillen was a member of the Wenatchee Valley Church of the Brethren and the Beacon Hill Grange.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Herr, and Velma Erickson, of Wenatchee, and Mrs. Leonard (Ardys) Erickson, of Yakima; a sister, Mamie Wagoner, of Battleground; several grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Betts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
