Clara Louise Bullard, 98, of Great Falls, died of natural causes Wednesday, July 13, at a local care facility.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory. Her memorial service is 11 a.m. Aug. 6 in the Rose Room at Croxford Funeral Home, with private family burial in Highland Cemetery.
Clara was born in Casey, Iowa, on Sept. 9, 1912, a daughter of John Henry and Anna (Richmann) Von Bergen. When she was a small child, her family moved to the Moccasin/Hobson area, where she was raised.
She married Melvin Otis Bullard on Jan. 16, 1933, in Lewistown, and they farmed in the Stanford area for 15 years. They moved to Great Falls in 1953, and she worked at Beatrice Foods here and for the former Great Falls convalescent hospital. Clara loved her garden and doing crafts.
Her husband, Melvin, preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Bullard; and daughters Lila Cook and Jacklyn Bullard.
Survivors include daughter Marilyn (Vern) Kingston of Butte; son John (Roxanne) Bullard of Cascade; sister, Dorothy Grobe of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
