Vada M. Longenecker, 69, 603 N. Wayne St., North Manchester died Sunday morning Feb. 11, 1990, 9:11 a.m. at Wabash County Hospital.
Born August 17, 1920 in Cass County, Indiana, her parents were Marian and Elva (Wagner) Kinzie, both deceased. She was a resident of North Manchester for most of her life, and had retired from Heckman Bindery in 1986 following 25 years of service. She was a member of the North Manchester First Brethren Church and of the church's Hadassah Circle.
She was married to Robert Lee Dillon, Mar. 12, 1938; he died Oct. 19, 1939. She then married Keith M. Longenecker Dec. 28, 1945 and he preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1971.
She is survived by five daughters – Mrs. Roger (Rosalee) Bridge of Warsaw; Mrs. Ronald (Sally) Weeks of Tonasket, WA; Kathy Jurek of Gonzales, TX; Mrs. Dennis (Vicki) Horoho of Rochester, IN; and Mrs. Ted (Lisa) Little of North Manchester.
Other survivors include four sisters – Mrs. Ruth Amos of South Whitley, Mrs. Andrew (Freda) Hulme of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Mrs. William (Wilma) Parmerlee of North Manchester, and Mrs. Doris Weimer of Lincoln, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. An infant daughter and two brothers are deceased.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bender Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, 11 a.m. at the First Brethren Church with the Rev. Marlin McCann and Rev. Woodrow Immel officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester. Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association or the First Brethren Church.
