Jack Rutledge Alexander passed away on October 1, 2008. He was born on June 18, 1921. He was the youngest of four children born to Charles and Mary Basha Alexander in Starkville, Mississippi.

Following the death of Jack's father, his mother remarried and moved to Colorado, where Jack attended high school, and later moved back to Mississippi. Jack later enlisted in the United States Army and married his childhood sweetheart, Luddie Taylor.

Five years later, Jack and Luddie moved to Seattle in search for work. He worked in the United States Post Office for 35 years and retired in 1979.

Jack was a Christian and belonged to First AME Church in Seattle, where he worked as a steward and trustee. He loved working for the church; it was his greatest love to be a part of the First AME congregation.

Surviving are his wife, Luddie Alexander, nephew, Charles Frazier Alexander, other relatives, and a bounty of god children.

His graveside service will be held on October 8, 2008 at 11AM at Abbey View Memorial Park - 3601 Alaska Rd. Brier, WA 98036.
