Russel C. Engle, age 87, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 in Williamstown.
He was born in Lykens, PA, on April 29, 1921, the son of the late Charles M. and Martha (Grosser) Engle.
Russel was predeceased by his wife, Myrtle J. (Witcomb) Engle in 2004.
He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Elizabethville.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Russel worked as a miner in earlier years and then became a maintenance man for the Federal Government at Fort Richie, MD, and retired as a farmer.
Russel is survived by three daughters, Hollie A. Bingaman of Williamstown; Lorraine K. Smyk of Tower City; Jane M. Davis of Williamstown; a son, Robert J. Engle of Williamstown; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Russel Engle, Jr. and 1 brother, Clyde Ritner Forney.
Services are private at the convenience of family with Elder Dennis Knorr officiating. Interment in Gratz Union Cemetery, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or Kingdom Hall, West Broad Street, Elizabethville, PA 17023.
