Obituary


Jackie "Jack" Randle Howard, 79, of Powder Springs, passed away after a brave
battle with lung cancer on Friday, January 15, 2010. He was predeceased by his
parents, Dan and Effie Lou Howard and a brother, Max Howard. He was born in
Granite, OK, on May 5, 1930, and was raised there. He entered the U.S. Army in
1948 and retired in 1974 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer II. He then
worked for Picker Equipment, retiring in 1992. He was a lifetime member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars, having served in Germany, France, Korea and Vietnam.
He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Smyrna, West Cobb
Dance Practice Group and Stardust Dance Club. He and his wife, Mary, enjoyed
ballroom dancing and ocean cruises. He is survived by his wife, Mary;
stepchildren, Andy (Nancy) Mack, Valerie Bseibess, Chip (Louise) Mack, Linda
(Ronnie) Dickerson and Larry (Dianne) Williams; step-grandchildren, Anthony,
Joey and Jack Bseibess and Randy (Julie) and Rusty (Lisa) Ramsey;
great-granddaughter, Riley and nephew Max (Shannon) Howard. The family will
receive visitors at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday from 5pm-8pm.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 11am on
Tuesday. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Georgia National
Cemetery in Canton at 2pm. Online Guest Book at www.westcobbfuneralhome.com.
