Graveside services for Georgia Estelle Boswell of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Garden Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Boswell died Wednesday, Oct. 8, at home. She was 82.

She was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Nevada City to George and Elsie Day. She graduated from Nevada City High School. She worked for the state of California for 35 years and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and reading her Bible every day.

She is survived by her sons James Cannon of Columbia Falls, Mont., and George "Bob" Cannon of Nevada City; daughter, Marguerite Peden of Grass Valley; brothers Robert Day of Grass Valley and Mike Day of Sacramento; daughter-in-law, Lory Cannon of Nevada City; son-in-law, Larry Peden of Grass Valley; grandchildren Lena McCullam of Columbia Falls, Mont., Nicky Bigoness of Whitefish, Mont., Martin Cannon of Columbia Falls, Mont., Sandra Cannon of San Antonio, Texas, James Cannon of Dover, Del., Gary S. Cannon of Clovis, N.M., Dana Haemmig of Nevada City, Terry Peden of Grass Valley, Sandie Carey of Nevada City , Larry Peden of Kearney, Mo., and Michael Peden of Grass Valley; 30 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren; and 53 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Day, in 1959; mother, Elsie Day in 1981; brothers Raymond Day in 2003 and Norman Day in 2002; ex-husband, James L. Cannon in 1995; husband, Buster Boswell in 1975; grandson, James Peden in 1977; and daughter-in-law, Marlene "Babe" Cannon in 2001.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
