William Banks "Bill" Beamer, 62, of W. Market St., Lewistown, Pa, died September 10, 2006, at the Lewistown Hospital, Lewistown, PA.

Born July 22, 1944, in Altoona, PA, he was a son of the late William Beacham Beamer and Betty Jacobs Robb. His stepfather, Warren D. Robb Sr. of Altoona, survives.

Also, Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Donna B.) Thomas of Lewistown and Mrs. Jeff (Lori B.) Strine of York; nieces and nephews, Rev. James R. Thomas of Exton, Patricia L. Jacobs and husband Kenton of York, David W. Thomas of Lewistown and Joshua and Jordan Strine of York.

He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served aboard the USS Hank and USS Aeolus.

Mr. Beamer had been employed in retail sales.

He was a graduate of Altoona High School and the Leland Powers School of Radio and Broadcasting, Boston.

Mr. Beamer was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Lewistown Stone Arch Players.

Memorial services were held at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, PA with the Revs. James R. Thomas and Richard Bender officiating. Interment was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
