William H. Armbrust, 83, of Greensburg, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, in the Hempfield Manor, Hempfield Township.
He was born Feb. 13, 1918, in Greensburg, a son of the late Henry R. and Elsie Peters Armbrust. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a bus driver for the Hempfield Area School District. He was a member of the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greensburg and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and had also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Florence A. Overly Armbrust; five siblings, Arthur, Curtis and Dean Armbrust and two in infancy.
He is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at which time service will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Gene R. Stuckey Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillview Cemetery.
Should friends desire, memorials may be placed with Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, South Pennsylvania Avenue at Second Street, Greensburg.
