Sarah Frances Brooks, nee Roop, was born Jan. 9, 1850 in Ohio and passed away Oct 22, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas. at the age of 97 years, 9 months and 13 days.
She was married to Newt Baldwin. To this union one son was born. Later to Thomas Brooks. To this union eight children were born. She is survived by four sons; P.T. Baldwin, Livonia, Mo; Dave Brooks, Seymore, Iowa; Will Brooks, St. Petersburg, Florida; and Geo. W. Brooks, Kansas City, Kansas with whom she has made her home the past nine years. She also leaves 26 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, and 32 great, great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents, three sisters, her husband and five children.
Grandma became blind five years ago while making her home with P. T. Baldwin and had been in poor health since that time.
Having lived in Putnam County in earlier life, she will be remembered by many friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the St. John's church, north of Livonia, by Rev. Bertha Porter, pastor of the United Brethen Church. Text was "Peace I Leave With You".
