FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. C. A. ALLISON, 62.
Funeral services for Mrs. C. A. Allison, 62, beloved citizen of Oglethorpe, who died early Tuesday morning in an Americus hospital, were held at the Oglethorpe Baptist Church this morning at 10 o'clock.
Mrs. Allison, the wife of a prominent Oglethorpe warehouseman, had been ill for several weeks and last week her condition became so grave she was rushed to the Americus hospital, where she failed to respond to treatment.
Mrs. Allison was the former Miss Sophronia Ellen Ansley and her parents were Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ansley of Marion County. For many years she was an active member of the Oglethorpe Baptist Church and the Oglethorpe Chapter of the UDC
Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Miss LaVerna Allison, Miss Catherine Allison and Miss Ann Allison of Oglethorpe and Mrs. Lucius Proctor of Woodbine; three sisters, Mrs. W. A. McMichael of Macon, Mrs. Alma Ansley Harp of Buena Vista and Mrs. W. H. Holton of Chattanooga, Tenn; and two brothers, W. B. Ansley of Buena Vista and J. E. Ansley, Sr. of Oglethorpe.
The services were conducted by the Rev. B. E. Donehoo, pastor of the Central Baptist Church of Waycross, assisted by the Rev. Hugh Dozier, pastor of the Oglethorpe Baptist Church and the Rev. W. W. Whaley, pastor of the Oglethorpe Methodist Church.
Interment was in the Oglethorpe Cemetery.
