Jim Wilson, 53, of Granite Shoals, Texas, originally of Leander, Texas passed away on Monday, March 5, 2007. He was born on July 5, 1953 in Austin, Texas, to Houghton H. and Lona Mae Wilson.
Jim served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam in the A/501st Aviation Battalion-71st Assault Helicopter Company in Chu Lai. He was a charter member of the Liberty Hill VFW Post 8200 and Past Master of the Leander Masonic Lodge. Jim was in law enforcement for 30 years serving as Sheriff and Constable of Williamson County.
He dearly loved his family and serving his community as Constable and Sheriff.
Jim was preceded in death be his son, David Dishman and parents. He is survived by his wife, Patches Wilson of Granite Shoals; sons, Josh Wilson of Granite Shoals; Brandon Wilson of Cedar Park; Mark Dishman of Houston; two granddaughters; two grandsons; sisters, Donna Childress of Cedar Park; Sue Bagby and husband Dale of Bertram; eight nieces; one nephew; two aunts; numerous cousins and many, many friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Beck Funeral Home, Cedar Park, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Beck Funeral Home with interment in Bagdad Cemetery, Leander, Texas.
Memorials may be sent to the Jim Wilson Memorial Fund at Union State Bank.
