Jeffrey Alan Cox, age 15 years, 1 month, and 17 days, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.


Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home Chapel with Bro's. Roger Anderson and Hap Strunk officiating. Burial followed in the Angel Cemetery.


He was born June 11, 1990 in Somerset, Kentucky to Jimmy D. Cox, Jr., and Lauri Erbaugh Strunk. He was a student at the McCreary County Middle School and was looking forward to attending McCreary Central High School this upcoming school year. He had planned on being a mechanic when he graduated from high school. Jeffrey was a Junior Hunter Education Instructor with the Department of Fish and Wildlife and he was also a volunteer at Camp Arnold with the McCreary Hunter Education Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, he loved fishing, hunting, camping, old cars, model cars, and helping younger children learn to fish.


Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Harry Erbaugh, and his grandmother, Brenda Ross Cox.


Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Lauri and Tommy Strunk, of Whitley City, Kentucky, his father, Jimmy D. Cox, Jr., of Stearns, Kentucky, a brother, Tommy Wayne Strunk, of Whitley City, his grandmother, Alice Erbaugh, of Stearns, Kentucky, his grandfather, Joe Darrell Cox, of Stearns, great grandmother, Elsie Ross, of Stearns, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.


Jeffrey was a great kid with a great personality and he was a truly special person.
