Meint R. Fischer, 75. died at his home in Benson at 3:30 p.m. Thursday following an illness of nine weeks. He had been in ill health for several years.

Mr. Fischer was born in Germany, Aug. 19, 1867, and came to this country in 1882. He married Gertje Janssen Monk at St Peter's church near Benson Sept. 3, 1889. She died Sept. 16, 1933. Three children are also dead.

Surviving are four sons, Jake of Washburn; Harm of Bloomington, William of Benson, and Mrs Marie Seggerman of Chicago. There are 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Mr Fischer moved into Benson from the country in 1918 and had been janitor of the Benson grade school for the last 16 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran church and a charter member of the Men's Brotherhood of the church.
