Philip Withington was the son of Richard Withington (bapt. Leigh, County Lancaster, England May 3, 1618 and Elizabeth (Eliot)Withington (bapt. Nazeing, County Essex, England April 8, 1627). He married first, 1682at Dorchester, November 17, 1682, Thankful Pond, b. Dorchester January 15, 1661/2, died there December 23, 1711. He married secondly, 1712, Sarah Holmes, who died at Dorchester April 18, 1746.
Philip & Thankful had 11 children, all born at Dorchester:
