Minnie Isabelle (Davis) Doty Short Warren Allen was the youngest child of James and Minnie Etta (Stubblefield) Davis. Her mother Minnie Etta had been previously married to George Starks in Indiana, but after his death had returned home to Kansas and then married James Davis in 1896.
The family relocated to Durango, La Palata, Colorado in 1899 where Minnie Isabelle stayed until 1907. Her parents divorced in 1903. She and her brother and three half-siblings relocated to Graham County, Arizona in 1907.
