Mrs. Marian Smith, 79, of Mount Carroll, died June 6, 1979 at Freeport Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Mount Carroll United Methodist Church, Women's Relief Corps and Royal Neighbors.
Born November 26, 1899 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of William and Alice (Sauders) Emery. Surviving are one son, Francis of Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Florence) Melendy of Savanna; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Blaine (Laura) Smith of Mount Carroll.
Funeral service was Saturday at Frank Funeral Home in Mount Carroll with the Rev. Tony Hawkins, pastor of Mount Carroll United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
