Joseph W. "Dutch" Hurm, 78, of Owensboro passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess County to the late Paul F. and Mary Alberta Church Hurm. He was retired from Ideal Pure Milk Co. after 28 years and then Goldenrod Dairy after 14 years. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Kennedy Hurm, on July 3, 2008, and a grandson, Richard Wayne Miles II, on Aug. 20, 2006.

Surviving are his daughter, Suzanne Miles and husband Richard of Midlothian, Texas; and a grandson, Trenton Joseph Miles of Waxahachie, Texas.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, with Father John Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
