Patrolman Ball of Robinson, WV., was a graduate of Van High School and had been a Chapmanville Police officer for a little more than a year and was set to attend the West Virginia State Police Academy in September. He was assigned to patrol the halls of Chapmanville Middle School, as well as the high school, in order to create a better relationship with the students. Kevin enjoyed his work dearly. He died following a motorcycle accident at age 20.
