Jan. 20, 1929 Edwardsville Madison County Illinois, USA
Well known in the Edwardsville vicinity, Albert C. Williams died at the County Home where he lived for the past 14 years. He'd been blind for some time. His home was originally in Maryville, but he came to Edwarville about 50 years and was assistant principal of the Edwarville Public school. He also taught at many country schools in the area. About 1880, he left Edwardsville to accept a position as principal of the north Alton school. He held that position for many years. At one time, he sought nomination of County School Superintendent but was defeated. The funeral was at Marks-Weber Funeral Home with burial in Woodlawn cemetery (Edwardsville Intelligencer, 20 January 1929). ------
