Mr. Brown was born in Smyrna, De. son of the late Walter L. Sr. and Elsie Emert Brown.

Husband of Doris L. Brown.

Father of Walter Luther Brown, Kenneth Brown, Michael R. Brown, William P. Brown, III, Ruth Ann Gares, Sherrie Stubbs, and Christine Faith Brown.

He was raised and schooled in Smyrna.

Mr. Brown attended Calvary Assembly of God Church in Dover.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he saw service in Germany, the Philippines and in the 342nd Infantry. His decorations and citations include the Purple Heart Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Brown had several jobs after the war and had his own crabbing and trapping boat. When he was unable to continue in this line of work, he started setting up tables at Spence's Bazaar. He was loved and known there for more than 20 years.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Brown was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8801, Smyrna, and the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post No. 2, Dover.
