OAKLAND CITY, Ind. — Isaac Scott Watson, 8, of Oakland City, Indiana, formerly of Evansville, Indiana, was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, June 13, 2009. He passed away at 1:44 a.m. at St. Mary's Medical Center after a brief illness.
He is survived by his parents, Scott and Barbara Watson; his brother, Nathan, and his sister, Abigail, both at home; grandparents, Mrs. Judy Phillips of Oakland City, and Pastor and Mrs. Gary Watson of Evansville; aunts and uncles, Robin and Roger Sermersheim of Oakland City, Greg and Sunita Watson of Nashville, Tenn., Trissa and Jeff Lucht of Kansas City, Mo., Jennifer and Tim Verrette of St. Louis, Mo., and Kim and Dan Housley of Springfield, Ill.; 15 first cousins and many other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Dr. Jerry W. Phillips, and his great-grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Lawrence A. Black.
Isaac participated in a number of community activities including Kindermusik, UE Suzuki Violin, therapy at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, church activities at East Gate Bible Church, family ministry on Sunday mornings at Angel River Health Care, and he was an avid UE Aces Men's Basketball fan. He also loved participating in SMILE on Down Syndrome and the annual Buddy Walk. Isaac will be remembered as a sunbeam who brightened the hearts of all with whom he came in contact.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Bethel Temple Community Church, 4400 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, with Pastor Glenn Bohlen and Pastor Gary Watson officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, Indiana.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, June 15, 2009, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, and again from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Bethel Temple Community Church.
