Obituary. Mr. George J. Trottman was born Jan. 12th, 1825. Died May 18th, 1893.
Mr. Trottman was born in Baden, a division of the German empire, and came with his parents to the United States, when about seven years of age, and made his home at Dresden, Ohio, until twenty-two years of age, at which time he removed to Linton township, this county, where he continued to reside until death removed him.
In his early years he gave his name to the M.E. church at Dresden, Ohio and in 1852 became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church, to which he has ever since adhered.
On January 4th, 1853, he was united in marriage with Miss Magdalene Studer. As a result of this union 14 children were born to them, 10 of whom, together with the widow, survive him. His age was 63 years, 4 months, and 6 days.
Mr. Trottman was a man of strict integrity and rugged honesty of character, worthy of emulation by all. An industrious, useful citizen, a kind husband and indulgent father, his loss will be felt by his family and the community alike.
