The daughter of John & Rebecca Maberry, she married Nicholas Anderson Stinnett on April 20, 1858 in Greene Co., Illinois.
Information from a relative: Nicholas & family later moved near Mt. Vernon, Illinois where he died. His uncle, James, and cousin, Charles, traveled by wagon to Mt. Vernon to pick up Nancy and the children to bring them back to Greene Co. The group slept under the wagon during the trip. "Aunt Nance" smoked a corn cob pipe.

Mrs. Nancy Stinnett, who had been a sufferer the past year from the effects of cancer of the stomach, died at her home here Sunday at 9 o'clock a.m. She was born here over seventy years ago and has lived in this locality all her life. Her maiden name was Maberry. One brothr, Alex lives at this place, and William & Janes live in the vicinity of Carlinville. Six children survive: Frank and Thomas, of this place, Mrs. Alice Muzebrock of Kampsville, Mrs. Fannie Herron, of Gilleslpie, Mrs. Annie Waltrip of Wrights, Mrs. Mary Thomlpson of White Hall, all of whom were present at her funeral and burial. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday and conducted by Elder Z. A. Edwards of Gillespie, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Rhodes Cemetry east of town. She was not a member of any church. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all.
