Joseph McKingstry personally appeared before the subscriber, the clerk of the circuit court, within and for the county of Walworth, being a court of record, and made oath that he was born in Scotland on or about the year 1825 that he emigrated to the United States, and landed at the port of New York on or about the month of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred forty five that it is bonafide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly to Victoria Queen of Great Britain whereof he is a subject.
Subscribed and Sworn to before me this 27 day of March A.D. 1852

LAFAYETTE - Died, on Monday, July 17th, of tumor in the stomach, Joseph McKenstry. Funeral at East Troy the 18th. The deceased was an old resident of this town.
