Hattie Russell Collings, 92, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Jim Smith of the St. Stephen United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Mrs. Collings was born in Bexar County. She was married to Finous Gordon Collings in 1929 at Ballinger. They moved to Dumas in 1943 and owned grocery stores in Dumas and Sunray.
She was a member of United Methodist Church and the Women's Society of Christian Service. She also was a charter member of the Dumas Garden Club and a member of the Cotton Club. She and her husband moved to Amarillo in 1981. He died in 1986.
Mrs. Collings was a Girl Scout leader and worked with youth groups. She was a member os St. Stephen United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nedra Prince of Amarillo and Reba Hill of Canyon Lake; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 6509 Arroyo Vista Place. Memorials are suggested to Saint Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79109; or to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79106.
