TYLER - Services for Katherine Gerlach, 92, of Hendricks, formerly of Tyler, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Hendricks Nursing Home in Hendricks. Visitation will continue Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial is in the Church Cemetery. Tyler Area Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She died Friday, March 11, 2005, at the Hendricks Nursing Home in Hendricks. She was born Sept. 27, 1912, in Minneapolis, to Iver and Marie (Tambo) Jorgensen. Survivors include her brother Nels Jorgensen of Hendricks; and sisters Jeanette Williams of Springfield, Mo., Hope Mosier of Lake Benton and Esther Christensen of Richton Park, Il

Katherine Olena Gerlach was born September 12, 1912 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Iver and Marie (Tambo) Jorgensen. The family moved to Lake Benton when Katherine was a small child. She attended country school, graduated from Lake Benton High School, and then attended Mankato State College for business school.

Katherine worked as a clerk/ typist in Clear Lake, South Dakota and served as Deputy Register of Deeds for Lincoln County from 1931-1942. She was united in marriage to Svend Aage Gerlach on November 11, 1941 at Diamond
Lake Lutheran Parsonage in Diamond Lake Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota. While Svend served in the U.S. military during WW II, Katherine worked as a clerk/typist in Washington D.C. at the Pentagon. Upon their return to
Minnesota, she worked as the Deputy Register of Deeds in Lyon County from 1944-1948 and then part time until 1959. Svend and Katherine moved to Tyler May 28, 1969. Katherine was a member of Danebod Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, embroidery, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Svend, Oct. 1, 1998, and one sister Marietta.
