Captain Anthony Austin was the son of Richard and Elizabeth Betsy Austin.

Anthony is the brother of Richard Austin Sr.

Anthony married Ms. Esther Huggins in October 19, 1664 in Rowley, Essex County, MA. To this union seven children were born: Captain Richard, Ens. Anthony, Lt. John, Nathaniel, Ms. Elisabeth died young, Mrs. Elizabeth Austin Gillette, and Mrs. Esther Austin Harmon.

At age of 2 years, he sailed with his family from Southampton, England, in April and landing in Massachusetts Settlements on May 16, 1638. In 1697, he was appointed Captain of a Foot Company in Suffield, MA.
