Frank Bankowski, 84, of the River Park Nursing Home, died there at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday after an extended illness. He was a retired baker. He was born on Aug 15, 1888 in Poland and had lived here 59 years. On Jan 10, 1913, he married Maryanna Jankowski, who died on June 28, 1960.
Surviving are three sons, Raymond F. and Harry John, both of South Bend, and E. Don of Scottsdale, Ariz; seven daughters, Mrs. Regina Kazda, Mrs. Genevieve Kaczorsowski, Mrs. Clara Lupa and Mrs. Helen Pierce, all of South Bend, Mrs. Henrietta Fournier and Mrs. Alice DeBel, both of Mishawaka and Mrs. Dolores Mull of Phoenix, Ariz; 25 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Stefan of Poland and Jan of France.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Rev Matthew Sienkiewicz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
