"He was 56 years a minister of the Gospel in the M.E. Church. His last words were, 'I'm a sinner saved by grace divine.'"

George Knight Hester was named by Mary Knight the wife of Dr. John Knight of Shelbyville County, Kentucky. Dr. Knight saved the life of George's father after he was scalped by Indians.
