Death: Feb. 4, 2007

Braden Allen Aboud, was called home to heaven on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007. A lifetime resident of El Paso, Texas, Braden was God's gift to his family and friends for 14 precious years. He died after falling while skiing with his best friend and cousin at Ski Apache in Ruidoso, N.M. An eighth grader and straight-A student at Lincoln Middle School, Braden was known for his infectious grin and ready laugh, compassionate heart and rock solid faith in God. He was the greatest son a parent could have and a role model who lit up the room with his megawatt personality. Braden didn't know a stranger, and never let a day pass without sharing a kindness with family or friends. Braden was a football player and member of National Junior Honor Society at Lincoln. He was a long-time baseball player, former basketball player and loved playing tennis with his dad. He belonged to First Baptist Church and was an active member of Wyldlife, the West El Paso Christian youth group. He loved Michael W. Smith and Mercy

Me, his dog Fred, video gaming, traveling and playing good-natured pranks. His sister Avery, a high school junior, was the light of his life and he never let her forget it. A happy teen with a zest for living, Braden loved his family and valued his friends. He will be missed by all, but will forever retain a place in our hearts. Mature in his Christian faith beyond his years, Braden knew with confidence that God was in control of his life. He now watches over us from a better place, guarding the gates with joy until his friends and family arrive. Braden is survived by his parents, Gary and Cindi Aboud, and sister Avery; grandparents Abdou and Claire Aboud and Larry and Val Hahn; and great-aunt Nazzera Aboud, all of El Paso. He also is survived by his uncles and aunts: Randy and Susie Shinaut, Jerry and Susan Hahn, Frances Adams, Norman and Jeanie Hahn, Dwayne and Michele Aboud, Russell Aboud and Marcy Aboud of El Paso. Surviving cousins include Jennifer and Chase Hahn, Morgan and Andrew Louner, Kelsi and Colton Shinaut, Morgan Aboud Mazza; Casey, Laci, Haley, Logan and Russell Aboud Jr., Brian Diaz and Nicole Grenier of El Paso. Braden leaves behind countless other loving relatives and friends, teammates, teachers and coaches.
