EDNA POWELL
Wanatah - Miss Edna M. Powell, 95, of Portage, Indiana, and formerly of Michigan City, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Miller's Merry Manor in Portage, where she lived since 1995.
She was born Mary 8, 1906, in Jackson Township, Porter County, to William and Martha (Augustine) Powell.
Miss Powell was a 1923 graduate of Westville High School and had retired in 1971 from First Federal Savings and Loan in Michigan City as assistant secretary.
She is survived by special friends Shonda Hiler of Valparaiso and Ron and Shirley Goodwin of Wanatah. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Vera (Clarence) Hill, and two nephews, Roger and Warren Hill.
A graveside committal service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Westville Cemetery. Wanatah Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
