Charles E. Crocker, Jr., 87 of Manchester, beloved husband of Dorothy (Jennings) Crocker, died Friday, (September 28, 2001) at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Born July 13, 1914, in Terrytown, NY, son of the late Charles E. Crocker, Sr. and Helen (Coutant) Crocker, he had been a resident of Manchester for most of his life. Mr. Crocker was a graduate of Bryant College, Providence, RI. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II in the European Theatre under General Eisenhower. Prior to his retirement, he was an accountant working for the State of Connecticut. He was a longtime member of South United Methodist Church in Manchester.
Besides his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by many dear friends, including Grace W. Barnett of New York, NY, Marjorie Martin of Bolton, Susan and Andreas Papanicolaou of Minneapolis, MN, Cortland and Nanette Gray of Manchester, Elizabeth and Paul Wicks of Manchester, Agnes Conduah of Vernon, and Malcolm Barlow of Manchester.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 3, 11 a.m. at South United Methodist Church, 1226 Main St., Manchester. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Johnston, RI. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Holmes Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements.
